Student Support Initiative
The Student Support Program is a new initiative to encourage students who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of quality control, quality assurance and/or quality management to participate in the activities of the Canadian Quality Congress. It is designed to engage future generation leaders and quality champions early in their professional careers.
The Student Support Program allows participating organizations to sponsor and help students by helping them in their attempt to participate in the Canadian Quality Congress and other events at a special rate or at no cost to them. Sponsorship for the CQC also includes complimentary student registrations under some acceptable levels of sponsorship. We invite individuals and organizations to contribute to this program by:
- Specifically defraying part or all of the registration costs to the Canadian Quality Congress for a student;
- Subsidizing a student’s transportation or accommodation at the Canadian Quality Congress;
- Offering a student your ticket to an event if a member of your organization is unable to attend.
It is in everyone’s interests to get college and university students thinking about a career in quality while their career goals and plans are still fluid. Their participation in these conferences will allow them meet and mingle with quality professionals and chief executives and gurus that they have never met in their lives and learn about the real world of quality assurance and quality management.
The program benefits include:
Knowledge and skill development: The idea is that the students will learn about what quality is and how its various tools, techniques and simple methods are relevant to every body’s daily lives and their own educational programs and to their anticipated careers; they will also gain valuable insight as to how quality can play larger role in society and in every job that people do;
Use to information: Students will learn that it is also the quality of information that matters, obtain information about quality management different terms and terminologies; and about the quality of management systems at participating organizations that could be their potential employers in the future;
Gain experience and professionalism: Students will gain practical skills from participating in and by observing a formal business scenario learned in a conference, seminar or event where quality management is talked about in practice;
